The P&H Delphin turns traditional sea kayak design on its head and challenges many preconceived ideas of how a sea kayak should look and behave. It's already proving a popular boat.
The cockpit has been moved backwards and the stern squared off so the bow just kisses the water but when paddling the stern engages and aids tracking. This makes the Delphin the most manoeuvrable sea kayak on the market. It can be spun like a white water kayak to get out of those sticky situations like crossing fast flowing races, yet tracks well on flat water. Plus the low back deck is easy to roll when the sea wins!
The great manoeuverability will appeal to more advanced paddlers, yet the wide cockpit also gives a boat that is stable for beginners, without being slow - indeed the rear weighted design with its long water line is great for speed and tracking.
