Sea Kayaking UK, headed up by Nigel Dennis, is the UK’s largest manufacturer of composite sea kayaks providing the UK and the rest of the world with the Romany, Explorer, Pilgrim, Greenlander and Triton sea kayaks.
Nigel is one of the UK’s most experienced sea paddlers and in his mid twenties completed the first circumnavigation of Britain with fellow kayaker Paul Caffyn. After completing the three month circumnavigation, Nigel set up his own kayak school in Anglesey and later on (in the 1990’s), kitted it out with a fleet of kayaks that he designed by drawing on his experience of the demanding seas around Britain.
These kayaks were the first to have features that are commonplace today – the offset day hatch to enable unsupported paddlers to access provisions whilst afloat and the keyhole cockpit giving easier and faster entry and exit to and from the kayak.
