The Romany is fast for its length (4.88m), very manoeuvrable and stable. Designed for rough water and ease of handling in the surf, the Romany is ideally suited for the small to medium sized kayaker. Romany LV & Romany S options

Romany LV

The Romany LV model is designed for smaller paddlers. The difference is in the cockpit - the modified keyhole cockpit rim is 87mm shorter/25mm narrower and the leg braces are nearer the paddler. LV kayaks have a re-designed front deck and less cockpit volume but the hull is essentially the same as the Standard model.

Romany S

The Romany S has been designed as a day kayak for the larger/taller paddler. The kayak has a wider keyhole cockpit than any other British made fibreglass sea kayak and has more volume in the rear compartments than the Romany Standard. The hull design offers maximum support and the shaped foredeck allows for large feet up to size 11/12. This model surfs well due to its flatter hull.

Skeg Systems

SKUK kayaks are fitted with a skeg which counteracts the kayak’s tendency to turn towards the wind - to weather-cock. SKUK’s skeg systems, developed in conjunction with Kari-Tek, use a robust skeg box made from durable ABS plastic. It’s moulded in one piece, making it watertight, and it has a large dagger-board shaped blade which drops further into the water thus increasing performance.
